102 Time Out Depuis sa création en 1998, le Monaco Dance Forum ne cesse de nous étonner. Espace d’expression artistique et d’échange autour de la danse, ce festival unique en son genre est devenu un des grands rendez-vous culturels de la Principauté. L’édition 2019, s’ouvrira avec Rising qui fera vivre au public une expérience exceptionnelle en compagnie d’un des meilleurs interprètes de danse Kathak au monde, Aakash Odedra. À la croisée d’une esthétique ancestrale et d’une danse créative imaginée par Akram Khan, Russell Maliphant et Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Rising est un spectacle hypnotique où modernité et tradition dialoguent dans la plus parfaite harmonie. The Great Tamer de Dimi- tris Papaioannou offrira, lui, au public un véritable choc visuel en présentant la vie humaine comme une découverte, une exploration de tré- sors cachés, une fouille archéologique intérieure... Le festival se poursuivra avec Oskara, né de l’union de deux univers chorégraphiques très marqués, celui de Kukai Dantza et de Marcos Morau / La Veronal. Oskara puise son inspiration dans la culture basque et revoit ses mythes et ses symboles, depuis ses origines jusqu’à nos jours. Unanimement salué, Grand Finale, la dernière pièce du chorégraphe Hofesh Schechter, présentera, quant à elle, l’image sublime d’un monde en chute libre à travers une expérience qui associe musique, danse et théâtre. Noé de Thierry Malandain clôturera cette édition du Monaco Dance Forum. L’eau, tour à tour élément destructeur ou constitutif de la vie est envi- sagée, ici, comme ce qui régénère l’humanité... une humanité qui s’est embarquée dans l’Arche pour un périple de quarante jours et qui en sortira transformée. Cette année encore les traditionnels Workshops et Master Classes perpétueront la tradition de rencontres et d’échanges professionnels développés au sein du Monaco Dance Forum. Dimitris Papaioannou’s The Great Tamer will offer the audience a real visual shock by presenting human life as a discovery, an exploration of hidden treasures, an archaeological excavation ... The festival will continue with Oskara, born of the union of two choreographic universes with very strong style, that of Kukai Dantza and Marcos Morau/La Veronal. Oskara draws inspiration from Basque culture and reviews its myths and symbols from its origins to the present day. Unanimously welcomed, Grand Finale, the last work of the choreographer Hofesh Schechter, will present, for its part, the sublime image of a world in free fall through an experience that combines music, dance and theatre. Noé by Thierry Malandain will close this edition of the Monaco Dance Forum. Here water is contemplated, in turn as a destructive element and as constituting life, regenerating humanity ... humanity that set sail in the Ark on a journey that lasted forty days, and emerged transformed.This year again, the traditional Workshops and Master Classes will continue the tradition of meetings and professional exchanges developed within the Monaco Dance Forum.
